Billing FAQ
The fine print, in plain sight
Why don't you charge for misses?+
A miss means we didn't save you anything — the call went to your provider as it would have anyway. Charging for it would mean charging you for nothing. Our incentive is aligned with yours: the better your hit ratio, the more we both benefit.
How do payload bands work exactly?+
Each cached entry is banded by the size of the stored response body. A hit on a band-M entry counts as 2 band-S units, band L as 4, band XL as 10. Your bill is simply (band-S units consumed) × your marginal rate. The dashboard shows the band mix per origin in real time.
What happens if Business Flat exceeds 5M calls?+
You choose the behaviour in one setting: either overage is billed at the metered rates above, or we hard-cap and pass excess requests straight through to your origin (you lose the saving on those calls, never the traffic). Most customers set a soft alert at 80%.
Is VAT charged on top?+
Yes — prices are exclusive of VAT, which is added at the prevailing UK rate where applicable. VAT-registered businesses receive fully compliant invoices.
Can I switch between Metered and Business Flat?+
Any time, effective from your next billing cycle. The dashboard's cost simulator replays your last 30 days of real traffic against both models and tells you which is cheaper.
